My Story

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Texas specializing in:

•    Helping adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship & friendship issues, life transitions, and career exploration

•    Assisting young people in understanding and establishing healthy boundaries and creating a solid foundation of strategies and coping skills for navigating change

•    Supporting professionals experiencing burnout and other mental health clinicians dealing with compassion fatigue

As a clinician, my priority is to create a warm and safe therapeutic environment for my clients, tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I believe it is important to find creative ways to engage and empower my clients by helping them identify and celebrate their strengths, understand their opportunities for growth, and set realistic goals for success.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Communications at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX and began my professional career in wedding planning. I enjoyed connecting with my clients, and supporting them as they navigated one of life’s most exciting, but stressful milestones. After being an “unofficial” therapist to many of my clients, I decided to make it official and moved to Dallas to attend graduate school.

I received my Masters in Counseling in 2015 from Southern Methodist University, where I also worked as a graduate intern at the Hegi Family Career Development Center, interacting with students and alumni in the areas of career exploration, professional development, and post-graduate career planning. I enjoyed preparing students for their “freshman year of the real world” and helping them identify a meaningful and fulfilling career path.

After my job at SMU, I moved into school-based mental health. I am a staff clinical mental health counselor at a local independent school. My experience working in education has taught me that the most effective way to reach students is to create a collaborative environment with both students and parents to establish a strong home-school connection. I enjoy helping parents develop skills to strengthen the relationships with their children through improving communication and increasing empowerment. I have also found my passion for working with the greatest underdogs of all time: middle schoolers. Navigating those middle years can be tough, as they are pivotal in developing a sense of self and independence.

Outside of work, I am married to my wonderful husband, Logan, and we have two precious daughters Aimee (4) and Lennie (6mo). We are busy and on the go often but love to spend time together with family and friends.
