My Story
Watching your child struggle with issues that you are not familiar with and not knowing where to turn can be very painful and scary. I want to help and work together to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and adolescents to process their emotions and teach them healthy coping skills to get them through life’s difficult times.

I have spent the last 10 years in public education, working as a secondary math and Special Education teacher before going into the counseling profession. I started my counseling career as a Crisis Intervention Counselor in an urban school district at the elementary and secondary level. I have clinical experience from working as a therapist, providing free counseling services to children and their families, as well as staff members in the district.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Math and Science Education from Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University Commerce. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Counseling with a focus in Children and Adolescents. I am trained in Child Centered Play Therapy, as well as specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and suicidality. I am very passionate about working with children, teens, and adults at all stages of life. I believe in meeting my clients where they are and view my role as a guide in their journey to be a more authentic version of themselves.

I am married and am a mom to two little ones. When I am not working, I love patio sitting with my friends, playing with my pets, exercising, or shopping the best deals at my favorite clothing stores.
